Families,

Due to continued interruptions in water service impacting the Blanchard community and surrounding areas, Blanchard Elementary, Donnie Bickham Middle, Mooringsport Elementary, Herndon Magnet, and Northwood High School will remain closed on Tuesday.

Our facilities teams have worked tirelessly to return campuses to normal operations. However, ongoing water pressure issues beyond the district’s control continue to affect these schools.

Learning While Campuses Are Closed

While students are out of school, learning opportunities remain available.

For students in grades K–8, families may continue using:

Zearn for math
Lexia for reading

Students already know how to access these programs through ClassLink.

High school students should log in to Canvas on Tuesday to check for announcements or updates from their teachers.

Planning Ahead

If water service is not restored and closures are again required on Wednesday, teachers will post learning activities using their school’s normal communication methods. Lessons will be prepared on Tuesday for potential release on Wednesday.

Please know your child’s education remains very important to us. Once schools reopen, campuses will provide tutoring and or intervention opportunities to support students as needed.
