We truly want to make Grandparents Day the best it can be, and we're excited to announce a positive adjustment to the schedule!
We've added 20 minutes to the event, allowing for an additional rotation and richer opportunities for connection.
This extra time means the new itinerary will feature four engaging 20-minute rotations: 🎨 Art, 🎶 Music, 🤸 P.E., 📚 Library Activities OR Book Fair (Don’t worry, Library activities will be available for those who choose not to attend the Book Fair.)
Please Note: To include this extra time, the overall scheduled times will be adjusted on the final itinerary. Every year, we look for ways to enhance the flow and enjoyment of Grandparents Day. We're confident this change will allow for a more relaxed pace and more cherished memories for all who attend!

🎃 Friendly Reminder About Costume Guidelines 👻
As we get ready for some festive fun, here's a friendly reminder about our costume guidelines to ensure a safe and enjoyable day for all students and staff.
All costumes must follow the CPSB (Caddo Parish School Board) regular dress code.
Safety first! Please do not send your child with the following items:
--Masks or full face paint
--Any weapons (real or toy)
--Blow-up costumes (We know this is a bummer, but just think of the disruption these cause on the bus and in the classrooms.)
--Costume accessories that could potentially be used as a weapon (e.g., a wand or toy sword).
--What's okay? Simple, wearable accessories like a crown are generally fine. 👑
Our goal is to keep everyone safe, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation with these rules! If you're unsure about an item, it's best to err on the side of caution and leave it at home. 💛🖤💙

📢 HUGE CONGRATULATIONS! 🦅
Please join us in celebrating our Students of the Year for 2026!
💛🖤💙
We are incredibly proud of these two Hawks who exemplify academic excellence, leadership, and outstanding character:
Elementary Student of the Year: Reese Elliott
Middle School Student of the Year: Sophia Nguyen
What a successful day for our 8th graders at High School Highlights! Our students had a fantastic opportunity to hear directly from representatives of numerous great Caddo Parish High Schools, including Captain Shreve, C.E. Byrd, North Caddo, Pathways, Caddo Career and Technology Center (CCTC), Caddo Magnet, and Southwood. We are so proud of our students for taking this important step in exploring their future options. As an extra highlight, we were thrilled to see so many of our dedicated Herndon alumni return to campus to speak about their high school experiences and represent their respective schools! It's a true testament to the foundation they built here. 💙🖤💛
Congratulations to our Student of the Year finalists! 💙💛🖤
✏️Elementary: Jerome Adkins, Cannon Elliott, Reese Elliott, Veda Hunt, Presli Rowland, and Caleb Storrs

Happy National Custodian's Day to the dedicated staff who keep our school sparkling! ✨ A huge shout-out to our awesome student, Lincoln, and his family for recognizing our hardworking custodial team! They sent special treats for everyone, and Mr. Walker, our head of custodians, is going to make sure both shifts receive their treats.
✨ Happy October✨ Fall is officially here, and our calendar is packed with exciting events and important dates! 🍂🗓️
