Herndon Magnet- Book Bundles for Middle School
These are the required novels your child will need for their upcoming ELA units. We ask that they be purchased through the school so that each student has the same version/copy. These novels are essential for our in-depth study, and students will annotate directly within their books. This practice is crucial for developing close reading and analytical skills. At the end of each unit, students will keep their purchased novels.
2025-2026 Required Novels:
6th - Espesanza Rising, Hatchet, I am Malala
7th - Restart, Brown Girl Dreaming, Chasing Lincoln's Killer
8th - Freak the Mighty, Call of the Wild, Animal Farm
